As our world entered lockdown, as we isolated ourselves from others and fear sat in, Soundcast was looking for ways to reach out to those who needed an extra dose of HOPE.
We reached out to many of our Salvation Army friends who many of our listeners would recognize from our shows. Salvation Army Officers and employees from Atlanta to Seattle began sending in short words of encouragement from their homes and shared some of their own experiences during this bizarre and stressful time.
As the weeks went on and these videos kept coming, it was interesting to see and hear that many of us were processing this experience in similar ways and you could hear tones change along the way. Listeners really connected to this because of the honest way we were talking about the crisis. You could hear in many of our friends’ voices that they were nervous and maybe even scared, but, they all know in whom we put our trust.
One of our network partners, Trans World Radio, caught wind of what we were doing and offered to host these bonus episodes at no cost. They then went as far as creating a separate section on their TWR360 site that was solely devoted to messages focused on finding hope during the pandemic.
We launched these bonus episodes in English and Spanish on FaceBook, Instagram, YouTube, and all of our podcast platforms. At the time we are writing this, we have had well over 7,500 views and downloads of these messages of hope.
We continue to hear from listeners what these have meant to them and we pray that they have made a difference in more lives than we’ll ever know. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of those that were involved. Because of you, we were able to bring a little more of heaven into this crazy time.
